Job Duties

Come Join our team of Registered Nurses that makes a difference!

Up to a $25,000 Bonus for Registered Nurses that are new to state service and remain with the facility for 2 years.

$15,000 sign on bonus will be awarded to new hires to state service and paid in a lump sum after 90 days with a one-year written agreement required.

An additional $10,000 retention bonus will be paid out one year after hire date and require an additional one-year written agreement.

Competitive salaries: RN II-Starting Pay from $79,572 and increases to commensurate with experience, education, and credentials. Total compensation including paid time off and benefits begins at $120,408 for this role.

Competitive Shift Differentials

1st shift weekend/holidays-$5.50 per hour
2nd shift-weekday-$5.50 per hour/2nd shift weekend/holidays-$6.00 per hour
3rd shift-weekday-$4.00 per hour/3rd shift weekend/holidays-$7.00 per hour

Piedmont Geriatric Hospital (PGH) is seeking dedicated, experienced Registered Nurse Professionals. A Registered Nurse II at PGH is responsible for providing advanced nursing care for patients with psychiatric disorders in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, as well as nursing standards and regulations. Registered Nurses are also responsible safely implementing the use of Seclusion/Restraints including knowledge of physical/emotional risk factors of the patients served at the facility. Positions are available for all shifts. This position may be eligible or required to work overtime.

The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental services support individuals by promoting recover, self-determination, and wellness in all aspects of life. DBHDS operates 12 facilities: eight behavioral health facilities for adults, a training center, a psychiatric facility for children and adolescents, a medical center, and a center for behavioral rehabilitation. State facilities provide highly structured, intensive services for individuals with mental illness, intellectual disability, or need substance use disorder services. Minimum Qualifications

-Experience working as a Registered Nurse.

-Successfully complete BLS, Therapeutic Options (TO) and other required training upon
employment at facility.

-Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills, team focused care and professional
approach.

-Displays the ability to plan, implement and evaluate care utilizing knowledge of pharmacology,
psychiatric and physical disorders, and cultural needs of the individual psychiatric patient.

-Presents good clinical knowledge and resource to staff.

-Experience/Ability to delegate, supervise, evaluate nursing processes to help solve complex
problems.

-Current, Registered Nurse licensed to practice nursing in the Commonwealth of Virginia, or
license eligible; multi-state compact endorsement is accepted.

Additional Considerations

-Experience as a Registered Nurse in a psychiatric, healthcare facility, acute care, long-term or correctional setting.

-Veterans and people with National Service.

-Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English.
