Job Duties

Enhances public safety of the citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia and Department of Corrections staff and inmates, by meeting re-entry objectives and by providing effective security, programming, custody, and control of adult inmates in a major correctional facility.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and office equipment. Demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Office to include Word and Excel to accomplish office support requirements. Knowledge of rules and regulations related to records storage, maintenance, release, and confidentiality. Demonstrated skill in maintaining confidentiality. Demonstrated skill in inputting data into an automated database other than Microsoft Office. Ability to organize work, meet deadlines and complete tasks in a timely manner. Skilled in communicating with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information.

Additional Considerations

Advance Knowledge in using CORIS and office administration or equivalent training or experience in a related field.
