Job Duties

Piedmont is a Geriatric Hospital located in the state of Virginia. It is Virginia’s only state Mental Health Facility solely dedicated to evaluation and treatment of persons over the age of 65, and older adults. The goal of care is to facilitate discharge to a less restrictive setting by assisting patients to improve and/or maintain their physical, mental and social functioning.
To provide consistent staffing schedules for all nursing units to ensure safe patient-to-staff ratio.
Responsible for inputting and developing staffing schedules for nursing departments. This position will ensure nursing departments have the necessary staff scheduled to work to ensure the safety of both patients and employees. Administrative Policy 33 (Attendance: Scheduling Rules and Procedures) will serve as a guide to ensure staffing effectiveness is maintained. Under the guidance and direction of the Chief Nurse Executive, performs staffing, scheduling, replacement staffing, record maintenance, filing and attendance tracking.
Knowledge of office practices and procedures. Demonstrates ability to perform a variety of complex duties and to communicate with all staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience using MS Office Suite is required.
Knowledge in varying levels of healthcare function and staffing needs.

Additional Considerations

Experience working in a secretarial or related position preferred.
Experience with staffing preferred.
