The Richmond City Health District is currently seeking an experienced Statistical Analyst. Our Statistical Analysts are critical in helping our staff and communities use data to better understand and address the challenges facing our residents. Typical responsibilities or duties may include: collection and analysis of data using a variety of established methods, procedures, statistical formulas, and techniques; verification of data for accuracy, identification of trends, and preparation of reports as directed; and development and/or operationalizing systems and processes to automate and facilitate data use. Analyses performed address a variety of negative health outcomes or inequities impacted or driven by Social Determinants of Health. Frequent contact and collaboration with other staff as well as information sources and end users of data is required to accurately collect data and to meet user needs. May lead other support staff on projects.
This incumbent will be expected to work in our Richmond City HD (400 East Cary) and other offsite areas in the community as needed. Mileage reimbursement is available for any work-related travel. Typical work hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.

Minimum Qualifications
• Knowledge of database management; data quality assurance techniques and procedures; basic statistical formulas and techniques. • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, problem solving, statistical analysis and database management skills. • Software skills should include MS Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word). • Ability to collect, analyze and enter data; perform data quality checks; report and reconcile discrepancies; prepare clear and accurate documentation and reports; conduct research; communicate effectively with diverse audiences; provide technical assistance; conduct training. • Willingness to travel.
Additional Considerations
• Extensive knowledge related to data management or other relevant public health field and/or equivalent experience and training. • Experience with software language such as SQL, python, or R. Must have basic knowledge of SQL querying. Knowledge of data visualization tools preferred (esp. Tableau). • Working knowledge and experience with Tableau and Redcap software: demonstrated ability to provide technical assistance, as well as directly manage and manipulate data, create data tools for data collection (for Redcap), perform ad hoc data pulls and analyses, and visualize data. • Demonstrated ability to evaluate, extract, interpret, and make recommendations regarding most appropriate uses of secondary data sources to meet agency needs. • Master level knowledge or equivalent professional experience in statistics, mathematics, public health, informatics, or related field.
