Job Description:
Serves as a mail courier delivering packages and inter-campus mail to the correct locations. Receiving deliveries, checking in packages, and delivering around campus. Physical Inventory checks and reports. Detailing state fleet vehicles and transporting them for repairs. Assists with purchasing from local micro vendors for facility supplies.


Compensation:
Wage positions: The hourly pay range for this position is $14.52 - $19.61; however, the actual rate will be commensurate with competencies and experience. The position is part-time and, as such, cannot exceed 29 hours per week and is not eligible for health or leave benefits. However, the position may offer educational benefits through our professional development and educational assistance policies.
Telework

According to DHRM policy 1.61 Teleworking, effective July 5, 2022, Virginia state employees will return to the workplace. Consistent with pre-pandemic policies, telework may be an option for certain eligible positions. Eligible positions are determined by the type of work and job requirements of the position, as defined by heads of agencies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently in a warehouse environment while keeping multiple priorities in focus and in progress.
  • Proficient in warehouse procedures, time management and must possess strong organizational skills.
  • Effective technology skills including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and other educational
  • technologies.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with ability to manage interactions with visitors, students, faculty, staff, and the public.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills with ability to tailor communication to multiple audiences.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Understanding of and commitment to the community college mission, vision, and values
  • Valid Driver’s License

Additional Considerations:

  • Two years of related experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Experience using the State’s e-procurement system, eVA
  • Forklift Operator’s License will need to be obtained within one year of employment.
