Job Duties

Provides supervision and monitoring of probationers from Courts and the Parole Board in accordance with DOC standards; to enhance public safety through supervision, follow-up, and the use of community resources, and commitment or re-commitment if necessary.

Surveillance Officers assist Probation Officers in the supervision, surveillance, and investigation of an assigned caseload of adults. Investigate and verify information on alleged violations. Assist in monitoring supervisees and assist in preparing reports and maintaining required documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Working knowledge/experience of surveillance and investigative techniques. Demonstrated experience to collect pertinent information from a variety of sources, maintain logs, and document discussions with inmates, or probationers in a human services setting. Demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Office Programs. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Additional Considerations

Experience working with case management computer applications. Demonstrated experience making referrals to community resources. Working knowledge of electronic, voice monitoring systems &/or anytrax.
