General Information:

James Madison University’s Department of Business Management invites applications for a visiting Lecturer position beginning in the Fall of 2024. This position is a one-year academic appointment with a teaching load of eight courses. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate must be able to teach COB 202: Interpersonal Skills, and MGT 305: Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management. COB 202 is a prerequisite course for all business majors; it is a skills-based class that focuses on individual differences, decision-making, teamwork, communications in organizations, conflict management, and other professional skills. MGT 305 is a course required for general business minor students and incorporates content related to both organizational behavior and human resources. The courses are highly interactive; therefore, evidence of teaching effectiveness is particularly important. Candidates must be committed to excellence in teaching and demonstrate an ability to collaborate.

 

Qualifications:

Required:
• Master’s degree in management or a related field from an AACSB-accredited institution is required.
• Significant and substantive professional work experience within the past five years relevant to the position and topic areas.

 

Conditions of Employment:  

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.
