This position offers a unique, impactful opportunity to craft and maintain a wide range of user-friendly, beautiful, dynamic, and fully accessible websites and digital applications.

Location: Based at our Midlothian Campus with hybrid telework options available.

Core Responsibilities

  • Accessibility Compliance: Ensure all digital assets are welcoming and fully accessible to everyone across modern browsers and platforms, strictly adhering to Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with our Content Strategist and Creative Services team to beautifully align web design with institutional branding and creative content strategy.
  • IT & DevOps Integration: Collaborate with the programmer in OIT to support smooth development operations, system integrations, and custom applications that keep our campus running seamlessly.
  • Campus Engagement: Work directly with faculty and staff across various departments, translating academic and administrative needs into effective, user-friendly web solutions.
  • Data & Analytics: Use tools like Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and SiteImprove to discover trends, champion continuous improvement, and identify new opportunities.
  • API & Salesforce Integrations: Support, maintain, and enhance application programming interfaces (APIs), Salesforce integrations, and related data exchanges that connect college systems and improve business processes.
  • College Dashboards & Reporting: Partner with college stakeholders to support dashboards, reporting tools, and data-informed digital solutions that help departments monitor operations, services, and student success initiatives.
  • LLM-Enabled Applications & Integrations: Use large language models (LLMs) and other emerging AI tools to support custom college applications, automate routine workflows, and improve integrations across web, data, and enterprise platforms.
  • Project Management: Proactively identify needs, work with relevant areas on a solution, and ensure projects are created on time and on budget.
Minimum Qualifications:

REQUIRED:
  • Experience & Foundation: Proven work experience developing and maintaining professional, interactive websites and digital applications.
  • Core Web Concepts: A strong understanding of web development, user experience (UX), design fundamentals, and content management systems (CMS).

    • Experience working with SharePoint site design and integrating AI tools (like Claude) into development workflows.
    • Familiarity with APIs, Salesforce integrations, dashboard support, and the practical use of LLMs or AI-assisted tools in application development and workflow automation.
  • Professional Skills: Outstanding communication, project management, time management, troubleshooting, and analytical skills. Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, customer-service driven, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Growth Mindset: A proactive willingness to learn emerging technologies, research industry trends, and continuously develop new skills.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Background Check: Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check is required for employment.
