Located in the heart of the Appalachian region, Virginia Highlands Community College (VHCC) serves the city of Bristol, Washington County, and the western portion of Smyth County, Virginia. VHCC is a beacon for educational opportunities, in view of Mt. Rogers and Whitetop Mountain, at exit 14 on Interstate 81 in historic Abingdon, Virginia. In addition to its traditional associate's degree and certificate options, VHCC serves the businesses and industries in the service region through its Workforce Development Division, which provides short-term training programs, corporate training solutions, and skill-enhancement education to area residents. VHCC Workforce Development programs include Certified Nurse Aid, Commercial Truck Drivers License, Certified Billing & Coding Specialist, manufacturing and quality assurance certifications, tradesman renewal continuing education, and more.
