Job Description

Reporting to the Business Manager for the School of Architecture, the Fiscal Technician assists with all aspects of fiscal management for our school. Primary duties include budget monitoring, reconciliation, and reporting; purchasing and accounts payable; accounts receivable; travel; wage payroll reconciliation; wage hiring; management of fiscal assets; data gathering and preparation of ad hoc financial reports; and the assistance with other financial and administrative duties as requested. This role will also cross-train with other Fiscal Technicians and, working as a collaborative member of the college’s fiscal team.

Required Qualifications

Fiscal and/or administrative support experience in a professional setting. Understanding of financial principles and procedures. Computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft office applications such as Excel. Demonstrated multitasking, troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to audit, reconcile, detect errors, inconsistencies or discrepancies. Ability to work independently with little supervision; Strong customer service orientation. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated proficiency with financial and human resources information systems such as Banner or equivalent software. Experience such as working with payroll, travel reimbursement, and management of fixed assets. Knowledge of university fiscal policies and procedures.

Additional Information

Position is eligible for Hybrid work arrangement (up to 1 - 2 days of remote work per week) following a fully onsite onboarding period to support successful training and transition. 

The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
