Job Description
Position responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in Introductory Physics, General Astronomy, or Physical Science, or associated areas of expertise. Adjunct faculty may be expected to teach lectures and/or labs for assigned courses. Most courses will be in person, though online courses occasionally may be offered.
Adjunct faculty hold appointments, as defined by their letter of appointment, without eligibility for tenure; where authorized by the Dean, adjunct appointments may be renewed. Adjunct faculty appointments do not guarantee a course assignment.
Required Qualifications
All faculty must hold at least a Master’s degree in the field/discipline in which they are teaching, with 18 hours of coursework related to the course(s) being taught. In some cases, subject to approval by the Provost, a faculty member may be recommended for appointment based on substitution of significant experience for the degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Master’s degree or higher Physics, Astronomy, or related field.
