Longwood University's Department of History, Political Science, and Philosophy invites applications for a one semester, in-person teaching assignment in Political Science for fall 2025. The successful candidate will teach two sections of The American Political System, a vital course in Longwood's Civitae Core Curriculum and even more critical to the university's mission of training citizen leaders.

This position is located in Farmville, Virginia, and is required to work in person on Longwood University's campus.

Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Job Requirements:

A master's degree in political science is required, with relevant graduate coursework in political science. A minimum of 18 credit hours in political science graduate coursework is required. Experience teaching at the collegiate level is preferred.

Additional Information:

This position is a part-time, exempt, instructional faculty position. Salary will be $3,925 per three-credit course. Commonwealth of Virginia benefits do not accompany this position. A successful fingerprint-based criminal background investigation is required. AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and other national service alumni are encouraged to apply.
