Job Duties

Up to $25,000 Bonus for Registered Nurses that are new to state service and remain with the facility for 2 years.

$15,000 sign on bonus will be awarded to new hires to state service with a one-year written agreement requirement.

An additional $10,000 retention bonus will be awarded to new hires who are hired after November 9th, 2023. The retention bonus will be paid out one year after hire date and require a one-year written agreement.

Eastern State Hospital, located in Williamsburg, Virginia, was founded in 1773, with a well-intentional emphasis on community focused mental health care. This state of the art campus, situated on 500 acres, consists of two patient care buildings with 300 patients, and a highly skilled staff of over 900. Eastern State Hospital is part of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) system, and is accredited by the Joint Commission.

ESH invites applications for the position of Registered Nurse in our Admissions Nursing Department.

Shift: Rotating (rotate every other weekend and holidays)

The Admission's Registered Nurse will coordinate and schedule admissions to our facility through coordinating with the CSBs and AOD/MOD Office. Reviews referral/admission documentation for accuracy and completeness. This includes Civil, Forensic, Adult and Geriatric admissions. Communicates with the CSBs to record notification calls for the CSB log. Provides data entry for new admissions into the required databases and completes necessary admission paperwork and documentation into the EHR. Maintains secure storage and patient valuable.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current Virginia license to practice as a Registered Nurse or license eligible; multi-state compact endorsement accepted.

• Previous RN experience is required.

Additional Considerations

• Experience in psychiatric admission coordination, extensive experiences working in the mental health field including direct service to mental health patients and interacting with CSBs.
