Instructor of Spanish

The Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures at Virginia Tech is seeking applications for a one-year, full-time Spanish instructor position, starting August 10, 2025.

Responsibilities include teaching all levels of Spanish language.

Preferred: Experience teaching introductory literature and culture courses at the undergraduate level, as well as a willingness to participate in co-curricular activities. The teaching load is four courses per semester.

Requirements include: 1) A minimum of a Master's degree or equivalent in Spanish language, literature, culture, or related field by time of appointment; 2) evidence of successful teaching of Spanish at a US university; 3) commitment to proficiency-based and communicative approaches to teaching language; 4) native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English.
