  • Facilitate collaboration with academic departments to align advising services with program requirements and institutional goals
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts within Advising Services through regular evaluation of advising outcomes, student feedback, and staff performance
  • Coordinate training to keep advising staff current on best practices, institutional policies, and student needs
  • Monitor key performance indicators such as student retention, satisfaction, credit accumulation, and graduation rates
Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
  • Comprehensive knowledge of academic programs, curricular pathways, enrollment services, and career development within a higher education setting
  • Ability to apply student development theories to support the academic, personal, and professional growth of a diverse student population
  • Proficiency in interpreting and communicating institutional policies, procedures, and academic requirements to ensure students receive accurate and timely advising
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to foster positive relationships across departments and with students
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, and support a high-performing advising team; prior supervisory experience is preferred
  • Effective use of student information systems and advising technologies to manage, track, and analyze student data and outcomes
  • Cultural competency with a demonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive advising environment for individuals of diverse backgrounds
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current on advising best practices, trends in higher education, and institutional initiatives
Additional Considerations:

Education and Experience:
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with coursework in counseling, student affairs, higher education, or a related field.
  • Progressive experience working in an advisory or counseling capacity with individuals from diverse backgrounds is essential.
  • Experience working in a college or university setting, particularly in academic advising, student support services, or enrollment management.
