The Bon Air Juvenile Correctional Center is seeking a Casework Manager to coordinate and manage the staff and activities of the Case Management unit. This position will ensure compliance with all case management, residential standards, Standard Operating Procedures, regulations, and Code of Virginia. Provides oversight for youth population management.
This is a public-facing position that requires in-person, face-to-face work with the public to include staff and/or juveniles in our care. Requires in-person work with juveniles and/or their families; Requires participation in collaborative/multidisciplinary staff meetings. Requires periodic 24-hour on-call work, including after-hours (5:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.) and weekend duties.
Core Responsibilities (not limited to):
Administrative and human resource management duties as listed in the Employee Performance Profile.
Utilizes FW-PBIS fidelity tools as part of staff performance management.
Uses data to track and verify identified outcome measures.
Provides feedback to staff on meeting expectations set forth in the PBIS fidelity tool and provides feedback if expectations were not met.
Collaborates with the Behavior Analytic team for technical supervision and implementation support.
Supervise directly and through subordinate staff all components relating to the facility's case management processes.
Serve as liaison between Operations, Division of Education, Programming, and the Behavioral Services Unit to coordinate and ensure the scheduling of treatment services, while being cognizant of security requirements, residents’ records, and educational programming requirements.
Coordinate the provision of treatment and counseling services of youth in our care by monitoring the delivery of psycho-educational support, processes, and therapeutic groups, individual counseling, psychological and psychiatric services, and case management
Handle confidential and sensitive juvenile information in accordance with laws, policies, and DJJ guidance, including encrypting emails containing sensitive information
Minimum Qualifications
Working knowledge of adolescent developmental behavior.
Working knowledge of the principles and techniques of case management, rehabilitation counseling, and evidence-based practices.
Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise subordinate staff, ensure that certification standards are met and maintained, ability to interpret and implement policies, procedures, and treatment program recommendations.
Ability to ensure compliance with departmental and interdepartmental residential standards, maintain effective working relationships with numerous departments and levels of management.
