Job Duties

Serves as the Hospital’s Buildings and Grounds Director for ESH. Must plan, organize and control the operations of a mental hospital, grounds of approximately 400 acres. Responsible for development, implementation and enforcement of policies and procedures.

Successful candidate should be highly knowledgeable in the methods and material of commercial building construction. Skilled in the operation of pertinent equipment and tools. Knowledgeable in the reading of blueprints and specifications. Ability to plan, supervise, and train daily tasks of Carpentry, Paint, Locksmith, Grounds, and Furniture Repair Shops. Make decisions independently, record keeping, accurately schedule and implement projects or daily routines. Able to communicate clearly, concisely both orally and in writing. Capable of leading, managing and supervising a Trades Department of 15 Staff. Manages the Building and Grounds Trades Shops. Manages the Building and Grounds Department in the absence of the Building and Grounds Director.

Minimum Qualifications

- Experience in engineering and/or construction management.
- Experience in management and supervision.
- Experience working in healthcare, plant operations or maintenance.
- Experience utilizing automated work order systems (i.e. TMS).

Additional Considerations

- Journeyman's level of trades credentials.
- Professional certifications (i.e. Electrician, Plumber, HVAC, EPA (Type 1 or Type 2))
- Experience in negotiation of contracts for outsourced work.
