Job Description
Reporting to the Manager of Conference Services, responsible for overseeing the planning of and managing all aspects of most university events. Coordinates event needs with the department lead or external customer and all necessary campus and external partners. Assist with all other areas of Conference Services, as needed, under the direction of the Manager of Conference Services.
Required Qualifications
Experience in event planning, scheduling, or relevant field. Experience in coordinating space utilization working with multiple stakeholders. Supervisory experience with knowledge of human resources functions such as hiring, review processes, and training. Attention to detail, demonstrated experience with meeting strict deadlines, working under pressure, managing multiple priorities, and working both independently and as a member of a team. Ability to write and/or interpret policy, procedure, and guidelines as well as the ability to enforce them. Exceptional customer service and written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with scheduling and event planning in higher education setting. Functional use of Banner, eVA (Virginia’s procurement portal) and Chrome River platform; Demonstrated experience working with data for reporting. Demonstrated knowledge of budget management and accounting concepts, including financial reconciliation. Experience in using scheduling software such as EMS and/or Ad Astra. Knowledge of CBORD CSGOLD Access platform, AIMS Parking software. Computer skills with knowledge of computer database software programs.
Employment Conditions: Some nights, weekends and holidays will be required, based on business needs. Especially during the summer months.
