Job Duties

Eastern State Hospital (ESH), located in Williamsburg, Virginia, was founded in 1773, with a well-intentional emphasis on community focused mental health care. This state of the art campus, situated on 500 acres, consists of two patient care buildings with 300 patients, and a highly skilled staff of over 900. Eastern State Hospital is part of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) system, and is accredited by the Joint Commission.

ESH invites applications for the position of FLOOR TECHNICIAN

The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of housekeeping procedures and ability to demonstrate proper techniques; ability to receive written and/or oral instructions; must be able to work independently and use time wisely; and knowledge of housekeeping equipment. Demonstrate wellness, self-care and ability to perform heavy lifting and repetitive tasks to include pushing, bending, stooping, standing and walking; and in various environmental conditions (extremely humid, hot, or cold) on various surfaces.

Minimum Qualifications

EXPERIENCE WITH FLOOR PROCEDURES FOR STRIPPING/WAXING, BURNISHING, AND BUFFING.

EXPERIENCE WITH CHEMICALS USED DURING THE FLOOR CLEANING PROCESS.

EXPERIENCE WITH STRIPPING/WAXING MACHINE, BURNISHING MACHINE, AND BUFFING MACHINE.

EXPERIENCE WITH INDUSTRIAL CARPET SHAMPOOERS, ROTARY CARPET CLEANING MACHINES, AND STEAMERS.

This position is considered essential personnel and would be required to work in the event of an emergency, pandemic, or facility need. All ESH positions may be required to work different shifts to include nights, weekends, and holidays, and/or overtime as requested, in the event of an emergency.
