The Stravitz-Sanyal Liver Institute of Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking an Imaging Data Analyst to join its world-renowned team of Hepatologists and imaging experts in changing the landscape of liver and metabolic diseases through research. The candidate will have a unique opportunity to work with a diverse group of clinicians, research scientists, industry experts and research faculty within the Liver Institute whose focus is the advancement and development of novel imaging biomarkers, imaging methods, and data analysis tools to support the translation of emerging therapeutics in the liver and metabolic disease space. The Liver Institute is supported by a non-GMP, pre-clinical animal laboratory, as well as a clinical Imaging Center equipped with state-of-the art scanner along with a cGMP Radiochemistry laboratory producing (on-site) 18F, 68Ga, 64Cu and 89Zr PET biomarkers and radiopharmaceuticals.

As an Imaging Data Analyst, you will be responsible for quality control and segmentation of medical images from MR and PET investigations in a technical and research-intensive environment. You will work in a team that together analyzes and delivers data for preclinical and clinical trials using tools to segment organs and structures in the medical images.

This job requires significant on-boarding to include a training program that is located in Europe. The ability to possess a passport and obtain proper visa credentials will be required.

Responsibilities:
-Quality control of images and related documentation from the MR and PET investigations in preclinical and clinical trials
-Segmentation of images from the MR and PET investigations including documentation and reporting of results
-Communication with national and international imaging centers on image quality

-Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

-Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.

Minimum Hiring Standards/Qualifications:
-Undergraduate degree, preferably in computer science or a natural science (such as biology)
-Proficiency in computational data analysis
-Ability to travel when needed or as part of our training program

Preferred Qualifications:

-MSc or equivalent in a technical, data-intensive field
-Hands-on experience with Machine Learning
-Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis
