    Adjunct Instructor of Pharmacy Tech for Workforce Solutions
    Laurel Ridge Community College Workforce Solutions is accepting applications for instructors to teach in our Pharmacy Technician Program.

    BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
    While teaching experience is helpful, it is not required; however, professional experience and appropriate certification are critical. Our students expect to learn from seasoned professionals who can share their knowledge and relevant experience in the field. The position will require the following responsibilities:
    1. Monitor and assign online didactic coursework to ensure alignment with program objectives and student learning needs.
    2. Teach in-person simulation labs, providing hands-on instruction and assessment to enhance clinical decision-making and technical skills.
    3. Coordinate clinical placements by matching students with preceptors at pre-approved clinical sites.
    4. Monitor students' progress throughout their clinical experiences, providing feedback and support as needed to foster professional growth.
    Students can be a mixture of novices, partially trained, or experienced professionals at different levels of their career and supervisory roles. Teaching positions are primarily in-person, but occasionally instruction may be hybrid, if necessary. Classes may be offered during the weekday, weekday evenings or weekends depending on the need. These positions are contracted on a course-by-course basis and paid as a part-time employee of the college. Classes may be offered at our Middletown or Fauquier Campuses, our Luray-Page County Center or an off-site location.     • On average earn up to $3,500 on select programs
    • Actual compensation based on a variety of factors including subject area, length of class and professional experience

    Telework
    According to DHRM policy 1.61 Teleworking, effective July 5, 2022, Virginia state employees will return to the workplace. Consistent with pre-pandemic policies, telework may be an option for certain eligible positions. Eligible positions are determined by the type of work and job requirements of the position, as defined by heads of agencies. Positions requiring more than two days of telework weekly will require approval from the Department of Education’s Cabinet Secretary. Positions requiring more than two days of telework weekly require approval from the Office of the Governor’s Chief of Staff.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    -High School Diploma or equivalent;
    -Faculty/instructor have demonstrated expertise with at least three years of experience, and current knowledge in the areas in which they are instructing
    -Faculty members/instructors adhere to state regulations for licensure or registration to practice as a pharmacist or pharmacy technician.

    Additional Considerations:

    Proven academic excellence and subject matter knowledge, which may be evidenced by training, experience, and/or an associate degree.
