Chief Purpose of this position: The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Cardiology is seeking a BC/BE Cardiologist with demonstrated skills in cardiovascular disease. VCU Health's Pauley Heart Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Non-Invasive Cardiologist with a focus on Cardiac Imaging. The successful candidate will join a team committed to providing exceptional cardiovascular care, advancing scientific discovery, and training the next generation of healthcare providers. Candidate should be clinically oriented and possess sufficient research and teaching experience to be eligible for an academic appointment. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively and work within a large multidisciplinary program. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in teaching and fellowship programs. Applicants must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Virginia.

Position Responsibilities:

Teaching Engage in the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows. Participate in continuing medical education programs and present at departmental conferences.

Research To support clinical research protocols as needed.

Service Participate in quality, safety, and efficiency initiatives. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care.

Clinical: Provide expert management of cardiology patients, with a focus on non-invasive cardiac imaging techniques such as echocardiography, cardiac MRI, and CT angiography.Expertise or interest in valvular heart disease is appreciated.

Other (for instance administrative duties, etc.) Submit billing and document care as required by the organization.Abide by all medical staff requirements.

Required Qualifications:
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible Cardiologist
  • Sufficient research and teaching experience to be eligible for academic appointment
  • Strong communication and clinical skills
