The Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Virginia seeks candidates for a tenure-eligible Open Rank (Assistant, Associate, Professor) to join a team of experienced general and transplant hepatology Gastroenterology physicians at the University Medical Center. The incumbent will have a commitment to clinical care, trainee and student education, and scholarly activity. The incumbent will be expected to manage patients in clinic, perform routine endoscopic procedures, attend on the inpatient hepatology consult GI service, participate in ongoing clinical research, and assist with teaching of fellows and residents. Rank is dependent upon qualifications.

Candidates must have an MD or equivalent degree and must be ABIM board-eligible or board-certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology , and Transplant Hepatology by the appointment start date.

This position will remain open until filled. This is an Exempt level, benefited position. This position is a restricted position and is dependent upon project need, availability of funding and performance. PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
