The Director, Specialty Pharmacy Services provides leadership, vision, and operational oversight for all aspects of the dual-accredited UVA Health Specialty Pharmacy. This includes clinical pharmacy services, medication access services, accreditation and compliance, payer and network access, limited distribution drug (LDD) partnerships, and health outcomes research. The Director leads strategic growth initiatives across the UVA Health enterprise and ensures that high-touch patient care, medication access, and clinical pharmacy services are delivered in alignment with national best practices. The Director ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance, fiscal accountability, and patient-centered service.

This position plays a critical role in expanding UVA Health’s Specialty Pharmacy footprint, improving access to life-saving therapies, and ensuring integrated services across embedded clinic teams, centralized access services, and health system operations.

Position Compensation Range: $141,169.60 - $225,867.20 Annual

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Pharmacy degree required (Masters and/or Pharm.D.) from an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy. Master's degree must be obtained within 4 years of hire or transfer.
Experience: Minimum 3 years progressive experience in pharmacy practice and pharmacy management. Specialized residency training in pharmacy administration will be considered in lieu of experience.
Licensure: Licensed to practice as a Pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Virginia required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
