Job Description:


Assist students, faculty, and clinical partners in all aspects of the clinical setting and lab. Clinical Coordinators will advise students in the Surgical Technology program as well as schedule and monitor students in clinical courses during the program. Clinical Coordinators will travel to clinical sites daily to observe and evaluate students and communicate with clinical partners. Clinical Coordinators are focused, responsive, collaborative, and accountable.

This is a nine month position; operating at 40 hours per week.
The position is classified staff and as such is eligible for the benefits package offered by the Commonwealth of Virginia for state agencies. For more information, please visit www.dhrm.virginia.gov. Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods of time
Proof of clean background and drug testing
Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
Available to work varied hours between 6:30am -5pm. Weekend hours may be needed for special events.
Evaluate student performance in the clinical and lab setting
Address student concerns when needed
Assist Instructors in the classroom / lab when needed
Participate in required college, division, or program meetings and events
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in communication with students, clinical partners, colleagues, staff, and
Administrators as an individual or part of a team
Participate in professional development that contributes educational goals and program specific goals
Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited Surgical Technology Program
Credentialed as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
Three years current work experiences as a CST in a Hospital Facility
Current AMA CPR (Health care provider CPR)
Preferred Qualifications:

Associate degree in surgical technology
Teaching experience in surgical technology
