Job Duties

Working knowledge of basic bookkeeping/fiscal principles and practices related to maintaining a checkbook type record for patients. Working knowledge of office practices and procedures and maintenance of patient medical records. Working knowledge of standard English grammar, punctuation and usage, and proper spelling. Working skill in typing and current office equipment and systems such as personal computer and software including Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint which are currently being used. Demonstrated ability to interpret and follow oral and written rules and regulations and maintain harmonious working relations. Considerable walking and/or standing, sitting, bending, lifting, visual acuity to work with computer monitor and printouts, and dexterity with hands to use computer keyboard. Considerable patient contact.

Minimum Qualifications

Clerical experience in a medical or similar setting involving fiscal duties and dealing with patients, appointments, and schedules.

PGH is a facility operated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS). PGH is a 123-bed psychiatric facility and the only facility that exclusively serves individuals over the age of 65.
