Job Duties:


VIB is seeking a receiver/driver for our Ft. Belvoir Base Supply Center location.

The purpose of this position:

  • Perform clerical and physical tasks in connection with receiving incoming shipments of merchandise. 
  • Driving a box truck to provide timely, courteous delivery of goods as needed to customers.
  • Responsibilities may also include:
    • Forklift operation and material movement.
    • Cash register operation.
    • Providing customer service.
    • Stocking shelves
    • Other duties in support of the operation of the Base Supply Center.

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. 
  • General warehousing, delivery service and/or retail experience.


Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficient computer skills, familiarity with internet, Microsoft Windows operating system and Microsoft Office software.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate up to a 25ft Box Truck.
  • Ability to perform duties independently without direct supervision.
  • Ability to repeatedly and frequently lift to 50 pounds and stand up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to operate a pallet jack/forklift.

 

The responsibilities of the receiver/driver include delivery between stores as well as customers on and off base.
Completes duties and/or projects as needed or directed by supervisor.

Additional Considerations:

  • Experience working in a federal or military environment.

Special Instructions

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check for access to the military base.
