Job Duties

The Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) Program develops midshipmen mentally, morally, and physically and imbues them with the highest ideals of duty and loyalty. It emphasizes the Navy's core values of honor, courage, and commitment to commission college graduates as Naval or Marine Corps Officers who possess a basic professional background and are motivated towards careers in the naval service. This enables these graduates to assume the highest command, citizenship, and government responsibilities.
• To provide administrative support to the Navy ROTC unit, officer in charge, facility, staff, parents, and students.
• Manage the office; respond to inquiries and other challenges commonly encountered by our students.
• To liaise between the university and newly reported NORTC Faculty; coordination of NAVY ROTCASU programs.
• Communicate effectively with others and apply logical sequences and resolutions to any issues or challenges NROTC Staff or students encounter.
• To train newly reported NROTC officer's university policies and procedures; ensure compliance with all university-related programs and requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to work as stand-alone administrative specialist in the NROTC Unit.
• Well versed in university policies and procedures.
• Possess a high degree of autonomy, integrity, and professionalism.
• Ability to make informed decisions and guide students when necessary or when NROTC Officers are out of office.
• Solid foundations in interpersonal skills, both written and oral, are incumbent.
• Knowledge of basic Internet Microsoft Office is instrumental for written communications, meetings, agendas, etc.
• Understanding of the university programs used for mid-term and final grade reports, course modification, transcripts, class schedules, evaluations, budget monitoring, and purchase.
• Must have knowledge of office management procedures, standard English Grammar, spelling, punctuation and basic math.

Additional Considerations

- High School diploma or General Education Developmental (GED)certificate.
- Considerable office management and customer service experience.
- Must have knowledge of office management procedures, standard English grammar, spelling, punctuation and basic math.
- Advance computer skills to include proficiency in Microsoft office applications, Knowledge of records management procedures sufficient to prepare and maintain records.
- Good communication organizational /interpersonal skills, ability to multi-task and reaching the mark of excellence in getting the job done.
