We’re currently searching for a Registered Nurse Supervisor to join our Schiffert Health Center team in Blacksburg, VA to help us in our mission. So, if you’re a licenced Registered Nurse with supervisory experience, please keep reading.
HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ROLE: 1) You’ll be joining the Schiffert Health Center team; a department centered on the health and wellbeing of the Virginia Tech student population. 2) You’ll be reporting to the Clinical Services Manager, in a regular twelve-month, 100% university staff appointment, typically work Monday – Friday 8am-5pm and rotating Saturdays 9am-12pm. 3) You'll supervise all nursing staff and be responsible for coordinating daily administrative duties, nursing assignments, and patient care as well as training new staff and student workers, and providing support and guidance related to clinic workflow. 4) You'll act as the backup to the Clinical Services Manager when they are not present. 5) You'll disseminate health services information and provide specialized assistance and counseling regarding individual health needs. 6) You'll maintain a variety of health records and determine health education/promotion needs and develop action plans. You'll 7) You’ll have the chance to grow and take advantage of a developmental plan with opportunities to advance within the Department and the Division. 8) You’ll be offered a base compensation package between $79,000 - $82,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so much more!

Required Qualifications • Must be a Licensed Registered Nurse and have or be able to obtain licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia • Multiple years of nursing experience in a clinical setting • Multiple years of supervisory experience • Demonstrated administrative and management skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to relate well with both patients and colleagues • Ability to make independent clinical judgments and demonstrate empathy for patients • Ability to promote teamwork within the nursing staff and other SHC departments
Preferred Qualifications • Experience working in a college health setting • Computer experience including electronic medical records and Microsoft Suite • Certified or Experience in wound care, including assessment, treatment planning and patient education • SANE certification (Sexual Assault Nurse Examination)
