Job Duties

The Special Registration Office Manager oversees the operations of the Special Registration Work Center, managing high-volume processes such as remittance processing, personalized plate applications, and compliance-related escalations. This role provides leadership, ensures adherence to regulatory and policy standards, and drives process improvements to meet departmental goals. Responsibilities include supervising staff performance, overseeing financial reconciliations, maintaining inventory accuracy, and collaborating with leadership to enhance service delivery.

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, serves approximately 6.2 million licensed drivers and ID card holders with over 8.4 million registered vehicles. Minimum Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of DMV registration policies, remittance processing, and compliance standards.
• Proficiency in team supervision, workflow optimization, and quality assurance practices.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for operational oversight and process improvement.
• Effective communication skills for engaging with staff, leadership, and external stakeholders.
• Experience managing operations in a regulatory or administrative environment, including staff supervision and process improvement.

Additional Considerations

• Familiarity with DMV systems, including financial reconciliation and document management platforms.
• Experience in leading strategic initiatives and managing high-volume transactions.
• Progressive experience in DMV-related roles, focusing on registration and remittance operations.
