Student Account Representative

The University of Virginia's College at Wise is seeking an energetic, positive, and friendly Student Account Representative to join our team. This role requires excellent multitasking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. As a key point of contact for students, parents, faculty, and staff, you will assist with account payments, deposits, and financial inquiries while providing outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Tasks:

• Process tuition, fees, room, meal plan, and miscellaneous payments to student accounts
• Handle college departmental deposits (e.g., bookstore, parking decals, pool and all other funds)
• Assist students, parents, faculty, and staff with payments and meal plan purchases
• Balance and settle daily cash work, including bank deposits (alternating weeks with another cashier)
• Distribute payroll checks and maintain refund check logs
• Maintain spreadsheets and ensure accurate record-keeping
• Assist with payment plans and monitor online payment transactions
• Answer phones, monitor emails, and respond to inquiries professionally
• File daily work and verify daily reports before submission
• Work with UVA WISE Foundation for Cash and Gift Deposits

• Reconciliation of accounts
• Assist with mailing student account statements

• Prepare and set up files for the new fiscal year
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills:

• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
• Basic accounting or cashiering experience preferred (training provided)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and willingness to learn internal systems
• Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team
• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required
