The Fleet Support Specialist provides professional fleet support services to all divisions within the Authority including the Bureau of Law Enforcement (BLE). This position ensures all fleet vehicles are purchased and maintained in accordance with state and Authority guidelines.
This position is under the general direction of the Bureau of Law Enforcement and assists the Fleet and Equipment Manager in planning and coordinating the procurement, maintenance, titling and registration of all Authority vehicles and regular reviews of vehicle and fuel usage, safety programs, and to ensure the stability of the Authority fleet. Serves as a point of contact for Department of Motor Vehicles needs as well as internal transportation services and needs. Characteristic duties also include administrative office support to the Bureau of Law Enforcement such as reports, correspondence, maintaining records, and addressing any inquiries regarding aforementioned services and all other duties assigned by BLE supervision. The position may involve moderate statewide travel.

Essential Functions:
- Vehicular Fleet Support
- Assist the Fleet and Equipment Manager with all Authority vehicle records and accounts for the Authority's fleet of owned and leased vehicles in accordance with established procedures for ABC owned vehicles.
- Monitors usage, mileage and maintenance of Authority vehicles.
- Assists in issuing vehicles to Authority employees upon request, informing drivers of proper procedures regarding their use.
- Reviews and approves requests for vehicles.
- Routinely reviews vehicle usage. Reports inappropriate findings to management.
- Accurately accounts for the Authority's fleet owned and leased vehicles. Ensures compliance with all state requirements for vehicles.
- Assist with the EZPass/SmartTag program for use in ABC vehicles.
- Keeps management informed of vehicle complaints and concerns. Reports on problems relating to vehicle usage or apparent disregard of procedures.
- Support the Fleet and Equipment Manager in preparing vehicles for all special agents including new recruits.
- Supports BLE command staff with specific requests and in resolving issues with fleet vehicles.
Bureau of Law Enforcement Equipment and Warehouse Support
- Support the Fleet and Equipment Manager in providing mission critical equipment to the Bureau of Law Enforcement special agents.
- Assists in maintaining the Bureau of Law Enforcement warehouse, including loading and unloading equipment and stocking items in the proper space.
- Supports BLE command staff with specific requests and in resolving issues with law enforcement equipment.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Provide project and/or duty updates to the Fleet Manager and BLE leadership.
- Provide administrative support services as needed.
- Perform miscellaneous tasks and participate in projects as directed by leadership to meet business needs.
Customer ServiceDevelop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Other Duties as Assigned
- Work in collaboration with leadership and other associates on assigned projects.
- Actively communicates with management regarding assigned tasks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of office policies, procedures state and federal laws, and fleet management best practices.
- Managing, organizing, and retaining confidential materials.
- Demonstrated ability to perform a wide variety of operational support duties; operate automobiles, trucks, and trailers; travel statewide; exercise independent judgment; handle matters of high confidentiality; handle multiple priorities; communicate orally and in writing and compose correspondence; work independently, review and resolve administrative related inquiries; coordinate deadlines and prioritize competing demands.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSGraduation from high school or equivalent.
Valid Virginia driver’s license.
Experience involving the performance of a variety of operational support duties.
