Job Duties

Eastern State Hospital, located in Williamsburg, Virginia, was founded in 1773, with a well-intentional emphasis on community focused mental health care. This state of the art campus, situated on 500 acres, consists of two patient care buildings with 300 patients, and a highly skilled staff of over 900. Eastern State Hospital is part of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) system, and is accredited by the Joint Commission.

This position will Perform buying duties from stock and non-stock items in support of the facility’s mission to include non-professional services.

Incumbent will perform duties under the supervision of the Director of Purchasing & Contracts. Interacts directly with Hospital Director, State Officials, Department Heads, supporting staff, contractors and Vendors. Supports the ESH vision, mission and values.

Minimum Qualifications

Skilled in operation of desktop computer, typewriter, copier and calculator. Ability to work with the public rendering excellent customer service and complete tasks in required timeframes. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Knowledge of VPPA, APSPM, SPCC, Conflict of Interest and electronic procurement systems.
