The Department of Criminal Justice Services is seeking a collaborative and innovative team player to serve as a part-time (wage) Programs & Services Specialist in Richmond, Virginia. This position supports cross-sectional work and special projects of the Division of Programs and Services. Hours are expected to average 25-29 hours per week during normal business hours. Once onboarded, this position will be eligible for limited telework opportunities.

What you will do: • Perform various data, analysis, and planning activities including those related to general reporting metrics and performance measures. • Develop presentations, charts, reports, and other documents to present data and information professionally and clearly. • Facilitate development of stakeholder surveys and questionnaires. • Collaborate with divisional staff and management on the development and publication of ongoing legislative reports; review and edit reports as needed. • Ensure quality and consistency in reporting, presentations, and materials throughout the division; review and edit documents as assigned. • Manage division website structure to ensure quality, consistency, and access for stakeholders; collaborate with others as necessary to facilitate design and development of materials and dashboards and updating of website content. • Lead or participate in special projects to facilitate accomplishment of strategic planning objectives of the division. • Participate in special projects to facilitate advancement of section and program specific projects as assigned. • Assist with agency policy and procedure development and updates; provide technical and administrative guidance regarding the modification of procedures. • Assist with developing legislative proposals and legislative review process, as necessary. • Collaborate with divisional staff and management, and others in agency, as needed to accomplish work.
Minimum Qualifications
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in policy analysis, performance metric development, and data collection techniques. • Demonstrated experience in developing professional reports, presentations, and materials for leadership, as well as for external stakeholders. • Demonstrated skill in writing and editing reports, informational materials, and presentations ensuring quality, consistency, and clarity. • Demonstrated ability to understand and explain processes and procedures. • Ability to articulate, both orally and in writing, clear and concise program objectives and goals and summarize achievements of programs in reports and other documents as requested. • Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines, handle multiple assignments, changing priorities, and ensure timeliness and quality of completed assignments. • Documented experience working as an active, contributing team member, as well as an independent and self-motivated employee. • Proven ability to work collaboratively and build consensus, to think strategically, and to independently implement new initiatives and projects. • Considerable proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, the use of a personal computer, utilizing spreadsheets, flowcharting, work processing, and presentation applications.
